On-file admission
You should know that the training is initially reserved for foreign students to fill the 24 remaining places (40 in total) in the first year, but requests are not high and therefore the School recruits from other French training courses. You must then have at least an L2 in science.
In 2022, the ESBS received no less than 450 files, and around 60 people were invited to interviews. Finally, around twenty people (from BTS, DUT, License, etc.) were integrated into the 2022-2023 class.
Admission to the master’s level is very rare and reserved only for foreign students.
It is not necessary to master German, to know biology in depth or even to still be studying to join the ESBS (for example, a student has already worked 3 years before the School), you must above all be good, very motivated and know what you are applying for.

- Entry on file, after BTS/BUT/License
If you come from a BTS/DUT/Bachelor’s degree, the procedure is a little long and begins around February, during which administrative registration at the school will be open.
What training is accepted? In fact, you can apply as long as your field is related to biology or chemistry (Examples: License in Biochemistry, BTS in Medical Biology Analysis, State Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician, etc.). Take a look on LinkedIn, you might find someone from the same establishment as you!
This first step consists of completing the file requested by the school, which includes administrative details, academic file (grades since the Baccalaureate) and a cover letter. Also remember to include a few letters of recommendation, it can’t do any harm. Do not hesitate to send us a message on Instagram or by email if you have any questions regarding your file, cover letter, etc.
If your application is received by the school, it will invite you (around mid-June) to a motivational interview which generally takes place at the end of June / beginning of July. This interview is an opportunity to sell yourself and show your motivation. It is he who will make the difference between people who have already been selected on the basis of the file by the school. To help you prepare, the association offers pre-interviews organized the week before – we will contact you as soon as we have the list of eligible candidates. Once the interview has been completed, the school will send you a response quickly (less than a week, sometimes just 2 days after the interview days).

- Entry on file, by the Faculty of Pharmacy.
An agreement was signed in 2015 between ESBS, ECPM and the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Strasbourg. A maximum of 2 students from the Faculty of Pharma will be able to enter Biotech training (ESBS) and 2 students in Chembiotech (ESBS-ECPM) directly in the 2nd year. This will allow them to benefit from the engineering diploma. This year at BS will be followed between their 5th and 6th year of pharma. For students who are interested, we advise you to request more information directly from the university or from the ESBS school.
